And When He Had Seized Him.

The following quoation is provided regarding Herod Agrippa, namely: " 12:1-19  Herod Agrippa ruled Judea A.D. 41-44.  While Luke does not assign a motive for his execution of James and his intended execution of Peter, the broad background lies in Herod's support of Pharisaic Judaism.  The Jewish Christians had lost the popularity they had had in Jerusalem (Acts 2:47), perhaps because of suspicions against them traceable to the teaching of Stephen. "1  Also, the following quotation is provided concerning Easter, namely: " EASTER  ….  Although the New Testament does not give any account of a special observance of Easter and evidence before A.D. 200 is scarce… "2 ( Emphasis mine, R.E.W. ).  Additionally, the following quotation is provided with regard to the Herod family, namely: " HEROD  (Hěr´ od) The name given to the family ruling Palestine immediately before and to some degree during the first Christian century.  Their family history was complex, and what information has come down has been frequently meager, conflicting, and difficult to harmonize.  The chief sources are the references in the New Testament, the Jewish historian Flavius Josephus, and a few obscure references by Roman historians, such as Dio Cassius, Plutarch, and Strabo.  The most prominent family member and ruler was Herod, son of Antipater who had been appointed governor of Idumea by Alexandra Salome, the Maccabean queen who ruled Palestine 78-69 B.C.  With the permission of the Romans, Antipater left his son Phasael as Prefect of Jerusalem and his second son, Herod, governor of Galilee.  See Intertestamental History.  Other Herods named in the New Testament include the following: Agrippa I, the son of Aristobulus and grandson of Herod.  He ruled with the title of king from A.D. 41-44.  Agrippa I ordered James the son of Zebedee killed with the sword and imprisoned Peter ( Acts 12:1-23). "3  NOTE1: The picture, located at the upper, left corner of this paragraph, was downloaded from the " bing.com " web page.4  NOTE2: The long uniform resource locator ( u.r.l. ), in footnote number four, at the bottom of this web page, has been included for at least three reasons: ( 1 ) an image was necessary for this related Bible article, ( 2 ) to demonstrate that a long uniform resource locator can be successfully included in a footnote, and ( 3 ) to demonstrate that a long uniform resource locator can be copied and pasted from a footnote into the address bar of a web browser.  It works ( omit the period ( "." ) on the end ).

In Acts, chapter 12, we learn that God says ( see Psalm 119:65-73, 142, and 151; John 17:1, 3, and 17; Romans 15:1-4 ( especially verse 4, for example ); and 2 Timothy 2:15; 3:16, 17, for example ) that there will be times when the king will persecute us as Christians, members of the church ( see also Romans 12:1-8 ( especially verse 5, for example ); 16:16; and 1 Corinthians 12:12-31 ( especially verses 20 and 27, for example ), for example ).  In Matthew 5:11, 12, it is written, " 11g ' Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely h on my account.  12i Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for j so they persecuted the prophets who were before you. "  All who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted ( see 2 Timothy 3:12, for example ).

The Constitution of the United States of America, and its various Amendments, are the secular laws governing this country.  However, this system of secular law does not equip the citizens of this country for godly living.  That is what the Holy Bible is for.  The Bible is the Christian's Constitution ( see Esther, chapter 8 ( especially verse 8, for example ); Psalm 1:1, 2; 48:1, 2; Matthew 5:33-37 ( especially verse 35, for example ); 1 Corinthians 1:1; 16:21; and 1 Peter 1:1; 5:12, for example ).

Over approximately the past twenty-seven years, I have suffered perseuction at the hands of the various kings of this country, in response to my determination to proclaim the gospel message ( see Acts 15:1-21 ( especially verse 7, for example ); Ephesians 1:1-14 ( especially verse 13, for example ); and 2 Timothy 4:1-5, for example ) both online, and in person.  If the Lord wills ( see James 4:15, for example ), I will continue to preach and teach God's word.  God says that women and denominational men are not qualified to be an evangelist ( see also 1 Timothy 2:12, for example ).  Please study the Holy Bible.
